             Trekking Nepal Kanchenjunga Trek.

The Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek is one of the most remote, spectacular, and rewarding trekking adventures in Nepal. Located in the far eastern Himalayas, this extraordinary journey takes you deep into a pristine mountain wilderness to explore both the North and South Base Camps of Mount Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), the third-highest mountain in the world.

Known as the “Five Treasures of the Great Snow” in Tibetan, Kanchenjunga is a sacred mountain massif whose five majestic summits dominate the skyline of eastern Nepal. For many years, trekking in this region required a fully supported camping expedition. Today, a network of simple but welcoming local teahouses allows trekkers to experience this incredible route while enjoying authentic hospitality in remote mountain villages.

Far from the crowded trails of Everest and Annapurna, the Kanchenjunga Circuit offers a true wilderness experience. The region remains a restricted area, preserving its untouched beauty, rich cultural heritage, and traditional way of life. Trekking here provides a rare opportunity to discover authentic Rai, Limbu, Sherpa, and Tibetan communities whose customs and lifestyles have changed little over generations.

The trail passes through an astonishing variety of landscapes, from lush subtropical forests and terraced hillsides to rhododendron woodlands, alpine meadows, glacial valleys, and high mountain passes. Along the way, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga, Jannu (Kumbhakarna), Makalu, Kabru, Rathong, and numerous snow-covered Himalayan giants.

The trek also traverses the magnificent Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, one of Nepal's richest biodiversity hotspots. Home to rare wildlife such as the Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Musk Deer, Blue Sheep, and many species of colorful Himalayan birds, the region is a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.

Crossing remote valleys, ancient villages, high mountain passes, and two spectacular base camps, the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek offers a unique combination of adventure, culture, wilderness, and Himalayan grandeur. Challenging yet immensely rewarding, it is the perfect journey for experienced trekkers seeking one of the last great off-the-beaten-path adventures in the Himalayas.

Trek Highlights

Explore Both North & South Kanchenjunga Base Camps – Experience the complete Kanchenjunga Circuit and stand beneath the world's third-highest mountain from two spectacular viewpoints.

Namaste from Nepal, in this welcoming country, with another beautiful trek around Kangchenjunga (8586m), the world's third highest peak. The trek involves challenging walks on snow and ice, but the breathtaking scenery is guaranteed.

Visits to the Kathmandu Valley with its temples, stupas, and intricately carved wooden buildings.
Exploration of Chitwan National Park on a jeep safari for wildlife viewing: egrets, crocodiles, storks, deer, elephants, kingfishers, peacocks, parrots, rhinoceroses, wild boars, and macaques.
A big thank you to Trekking Nepal and Man Kumar for their professionalism and to their very attentive team of porters.

Hello!
We just spent five weeks in this beautiful country. We chose Trekking Nepal to do the Kanchenjunga circuit.

What a joy! Mankumar, our guide, is simply incredible. He speaks impeccable French, and it was such a pleasure to hear him talk about his country, its culture, and its customs in the evenings.
The kindness and attentiveness of the entire team, knowing how to adapt to everyone's level, always present during challenging moments, always a smile and a kind word of comfort in difficult times.
Don't hesitate, it's just fantastic! Beautiful adventures to experience with professionals. Bravo to the whole team!
