Day 1: Kathmandu (1,350 m) – Syabrubesi (1,503 m)


Scenic Drive to the Gateway of Langtang

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the traditional gateway to the Langtang region. The road follows winding mountain highways through terraced fields, lush hillsides, rivers, and charming rural villages. As the journey progresses, beautiful views of the Himalayan foothills and the Trishuli River accompany you throughout the day. Upon arrival in Syabrubesi, enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere and prepare for the trekking adventure ahead.

Into the Forests of Langtang National Park

The trek begins by following the Langtang Khola through dense forests of oak, bamboo, pine, and rhododendron. The trail crosses several suspension bridges and passes small settlements surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. Langtang National Park is home to a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, Himalayan birds, and occasionally red pandas hidden within the forest. The peaceful trail gradually climbs to Lama Hotel, located deep within the forest.

Following the Ancient Trade Route

Today's trail continues through beautiful forests before gradually opening into a broad Himalayan valley. As you gain altitude, spectacular views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding snow-capped peaks begin to dominate the landscape. Passing through Ghodatabela and yak grazing pastures, you eventually reach Langtang Village, a traditional Tamang settlement that was rebuilt following the 2015 earthquake.

A shorter trekking day allows for gradual acclimatization. The route passes through wide glacial valleys, traditional stone houses, mani walls, and prayer flags. Surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks, Kyanjin Gompa is one of the most beautiful settlements in the region. Upon arrival, visit the ancient monastery and the famous yak cheese factory while enjoying stunning mountain views.

Today's trail leaves the forest behind and enters the spectacular alpine zone. As you approach Gosaikunda, several sacred lakes appear among rocky ridges and snow-covered peaks. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva created Gosaikunda Lake, making it one of Nepal's most important pilgrimage destinations.

One of the most spectacular days of the journey. Early in the morning, cross Lauribina Pass, the highest point of the trek. From the top, enjoy magnificent views of the sacred lakes, surrounding peaks, and remote mountain landscapes before descending through rugged terrain and forests to Ghopte.
