Manaslu Circuit Trek via Larkya La Pass

Manaslu Circuit Trek

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most spectacular and rewarding trekking adventures. Far from the crowded trails, this journey takes you deep into the heart of the Himalayas, through remote mountain villages, breathtaking landscapes, and rich cultural heritage.

The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola, the gateway to the Manaslu region. Following the Budhi Gandaki River, the trail passes through lush forests, terraced fields, dramatic gorges, suspension bridges, and traditional villages. As you gain altitude, the landscape gradually changes from subtropical valleys to alpine wilderness and high mountain terrain.

The region is strongly influenced by Tibetan culture. Along the way, trekkers discover ancient monasteries, mani walls, chortens, prayer flags, and villages where centuries-old traditions are still preserved. The beautiful village of Samagaon, located beneath the towering slopes of Manaslu, offers a unique glimpse into Himalayan life and culture.

The route circles Manaslu (8,163 m), the eighth-highest mountain in the world. Throughout the trek, magnificent views of snow-covered peaks, glaciers, and rugged Himalayan valleys accompany every step. Unlike the more popular trekking regions, Manaslu remains peaceful, authentic, and remarkably untouched.

One of the greatest highlights of the journey is crossing the legendary Larkya La Pass (5,106 m). From the summit, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Manaslu, Himlung Himal, Kang Guru, Cheo Himal, and Annapurna II.

Combining extraordinary mountain scenery, fascinating cultural encounters, and a genuine sense of adventure, the Manaslu Circuit Trek offers one of the finest trekking experiences in Nepal.
